Overview Requirements Faculty

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is a 36-credit hour program that prepares you to be a leader in the field of nursing as a nurse educator, administrator, and manager or entrepreneur.

The curriculum offers you a choice between two majors, one focusing on the nurse as educator, and one on the nurse as leader, manager and entrepreneur. The program also prepares you for the challenges of modern nursing through its overall emphasis on transcultural nursing, ethics, research, and the application of knowledge and skills in a practice setting.

Nebraska Wesleyan is recognized as one of the leaders in nursing education in the state of Nebraska. The Master of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission™.

Format
The MSN is a two-year program (24 months) and is offered on a part-time basis. Students may begin at any session. However, all core courses myst be completed prior to enrollment in specialty courses in the major.

Wesleyan Advantage also offers a Post Masters Certificate program in nursing. Nurses who obtained their MSN degree from Wesleyan can study the alternate MSN track (nurse as educator or nurse as leader) he or she did not choose during their MSN program. Nurses who did not obtain their MSN degree from NWU have the ability to focus on the nurse as leader or nurse as educator curriculum through this 21-hour program.
